Tasting notes
The golden-colored 2005 Riesling Clos Ste Hune is clear, deep and elegant on the spicy as well as intense nose that is reminiscent of ripe and cooked apricots. The palate is pure and salty yet dense, extremely intense and complex, with a striking mineral expression, finesse and fine tannins. The 2005 Clos Ste Hune is a calm and expressive Riesling with great and complex length. Despite being almost 20 years old, it is still a promising wine that could perhaps even improve further over the years. Tasted at the Auberge de l'Ill in November 2024.

What makes this wonderfully peachy, medium- to full-bodied Clos Ste. Hune so exciting is the interplay of creamy richness, delicate tannins and just a hint of bitterness. That extends right through the beautifully balanced finale. Drink or hold.
A tiny bit oily and bone dry. Pure, stony flavours. Lacy texture suggests complexity. Tense, pure, tingly – an absolute classic. (JR)
‘Good classic vintage – crystal clear’. Pale greenish gold. Lively, full of beans, not rich and not dense but beautifully balanced. Not showy. Lighter than some vintages. Very racy. But not amazingly persistent – it’s the balance that does it. (JR)
