The 1992 Riesling Clos Ste Hune exhibits a golden color with a greenish rim. The bouquet is fragrant and reminiscent of ripe apricots. The wine is lean but dense, rich and aromatic on the palate, as well as enormously mineral yet also juicy and supported by fine but unyielding tannins. Very complex and long lasting on the finish, this is a great vintage for the Clos Ste Hune. Tasted at the Auberge de l'Ill in November 2024.

An elegant, medium-bodied Clos Ste. Hune that’s now at its mature best. More gently structured than the wines from the top vintages, but plenty of caramelized-peach character and a lemon-peel freshness. Slight bitterness at the long, very expressive finish. Drink now.
This was a big crop, like 1979 and 1989. Auberge de l’Ill sommelier Serge Doubs calls this vintage misunderstood. Paler than the 2001. Racy and lively with no shortage of pure fruit. Full and round with impressive persistence. Still youthful! (JR)
Good vintage, especially for Riesling. Big crop! RS 3.5 g/l. Bright gold. Nicely maturing middle-aged wine. Aromas still knitting together but great energy and firm dry finish after bright fruit. Very appetising. Clean and fresh. Amazingly youthful for its age (compared with 1992 white burgundy). Long and vibrant. (JR)
