Medium red. Very ripe aromas and flavors of cherry, earth and truffle. Supple in the mouth but with a slight dryness. Finishes reasonably fresh, with sweet tannins.

(these vines are in the southern part of the appellation, between Avaux and Les Vignes Franches; the soil here is clay with small stones) Good deep red. Rather generous, fruit-driven flavors of black cherry, mocha, licorice and earth. Not especially complex but finishes with fine tannins and good length.
