Score 93/100 · Drink 2013-2021, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2009

The 2006 Suisassi (Syrah) is a gorgeous effort redolent of ripe dark fruit, violets, French oak, minerals and new leather. The wine possesses superb vibrancy, clarity and definition in a style that manages to be medium in body despite achieving surprising richness. Although the wine is delicious today, it could use a few years in bottle for the oak to better integrate. The Suisassi was fermented and aged in French oak barrels, the same technique D'Attoma uses with Le Macchiole's Scrio.

Luca D’Attoma and Elena Celli are at the beginning of a new adventure in Riparbella, a part of Maremma that has attracted a lot of attention recently. The wines from these bio-dynamically farmed vineyards continue to improve, and judging by the young age of the vines, the best is yet to come. An Acid Inc.
