Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2001-2012, Robert Parker, Apr 1999
I know little about this chateau, but the 1998 reveals evidence of sur-maturite (over-ripeness) in its jammy, cherry eau-de-vie-like nose. Rich, medium to full-bodied, fat, juicy, succulent, and with low acidity, this mouth-filling, attractive wine may merit an even higher rating. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2012.

Saturated dark ruby. Superripe, floral aromas of blackberry coulis, raspberry, violet and dark chocolate; slightly high-toned. Thick, pliant and captivating in the mouth; distinctly liqueur-like flavors of kirsch and chocolate supported by firm minerality. Quintessential merlot sweetness and dense texture. Finishes with sweet tannins and persistent, lush fruit.
