Tasting notes
Very pale crimson. fresh tea nose. Evolved and charming though light. The palate is marred by high acidity and this is a wine that I really cannot imagine choosing to drink for pleasure. (JR)

A soft, weedy Calon-Segur, with a washed-out ruby color, herb, pepper, and earthy aromas, light to medium body, and low tannin, this 1997 should be consumed over the next 3-4 years.

About the producer

Wedding gift lists traditionally include wine glasses or cutlery, but in 1718, Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, the owner of Château Lafite and Château Latour and president of the Bordeaux parliament, received a rather more impressive present: Château Calon.
