Tasting notes
Yellow-gold color. Powerful aromas of iodine, wet rock, smoky lees and pear skin. This is all about minerality, with fruit playing second fiddle. Fleshy, smoky orchard fruit and sweet butter flavors are brightened by white flowers and candied anise, with a kiss of herbs on the back. The remarkable mineral expression of this wine reminded me of a top wine from Coche-Dury.

About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
