Deep ruby/purple in color, with notes of black cherries, earth, licorice and camphor, the medium-bodied 2000 Cuvee George shows firmer tannins than the regular cuvee, more blue than red fruits, and earthy notes in the background. For my taste, it is no better than the regular cuvee, just different in style. Drink it over the next decade.

Medium ruby. Liqueur-like red berries and coffee on the nose. A silky-sweet fruit bomb, with impressive fat but also a bit of alcoholic warmth. Still a bit youthfully aggressive, but appears to have the stuffing to harmonize with three or four years of bottle aging.
