A deep saturated ruby-colored effort, with copious quantities of sweet, jammy cherry, and black currant fruit complemented by high quality, toasty oak, this medium-bodied 1997 displays excellent richness, a soft, velvety texture, light tannin, and low acidity. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. Wine Advocate.April, 2000

Bright dark ruby. Complex aromas of black raspberry, fresh blood, mocha, violet and spicy oak. Dense but fresh and primary; has very good stuffing for the vintage. Finishes with substantial lush tannins and a juicy, persistent flavor of black raspberry. Impressive for the vintage.
