(bottled in April) Cool aromas of orange, mint and spices. Broad and ripe but dry; in a distinctly elegant style, with more restrained fruitiness than most of Lafon's '04 Meursaults. Best today on the finish, which begins closed, even austere, but then shows a late whiplash of fruit. Perhaps still a bit shocked by the bottling.

Slightly reduced nose hints at peach nectar. Sweet, supple and elegantly styled; less oily than Lafon's Meursaults. Tightens up on the back end, finishing steely, dry and focused. This cuvee finished its sugar fermentation early and that's why it's a bit reduced today, says Lafon.
