From the cool outreaches of Listrac, this attractive dark ruby-colored wine offers up notes of camphor, licorice and black currants. Its medium body and good richness as well as ripeness, purity of fruit, and endearing texture make for an attractive wine to drink over the next decade. A member of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois du Medoc.
Lots of toasty oak giving a smoky character. Some mineral character. Fragrant and charming. (RH)
About the producer
Situated at the highest point in the Médoc (at a huge 43 metres above sea-level), this estate is thought to be named after a spring on the site, from which Henry II supposedly drank (a “royal fountain”).
