The 2011 Il Bruciato explodes from the glass with huge black fruit, tar, mocha, espresso, smoke and scorched earth. The 2011 Bolgheri Rosso Il Bruciato (65% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Syrah) is a lovely wine with just enough cheerful informality to pair with hearty potato gnocchi with melted butter and fresh sage. The proverbial food-friendly Italian red, Il Bruciato offers balanced acidity, thick concentration and hearty black fruit flavors. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Renzo Cotarella and the Antinori family have certainly hit their stride here at Guado al Tasso.
