Bright medium red. Redcurrant, smoke, meat, earth and underbrush on the nose; not cooked but very 2003. Big for Santenay, with fat flavors of redcurrant and spice. Finishes with huge, broad, slightly dry-edged tannins.

Good deep red. Sweet plum and mint aromas. Broader, sweeter and more horizontal than the Gravieres; seems fatter and even riper. Then finishes with fairly substantial, slightly dry tannins but less of the scorched earth character of the Gravieres.
