Tasting notes
The 2005 Clos Floridène has aged magnificently. There is a bit of new oak sheen that still comes through, and yet the wine is bright, fresh and wonderfully articulated. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, mocha, new leather, spice and rose petal fill out the layers in a charming, alluring Graves built on texture. Drink it over the next decade or so.

This well-known property of Denis Dubourdieu has produced a 2005 that offers up loads of smoky barbecue and chocolaty fruits, including blackcurrants and cherries. Medium-bodied with relatively soft tannins because of the vintage, this is a larger-boned and bigger-framed wine than usual, but impressive. Drink it over the next 12-15 years.
Pale greenish gold. Pure quite opulent ripe Sauvignon aromas. Very fresh but not especially intense. (JR)
