Has transformed in the last two years, according to Peter Gago. Bright and sweet. Very chewy and a bit tannic now. Pretty tough and austere now but it will surely develop beautifully. (JR)

Magnum. Still very deep in colour. Sweet and concentrated, and very Grange – absolutely distinctive in its opulence and concentration. After a big nose, the palate delivers barely believable depths of flavour. Utterly bewitching. You have to hand it to them – this delivers on all fronts, and deserves its throne. Just so expressive! 97% Shiraz, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. Kalimna, Barossa Valley, Padthaway, Magill. Dark chocolate, blackberry, pepper, extraordinary intensity of perfume, with a lot of American oak influence giving a coconut and incense spice. Built to last, but the fine paste tannic quality is very digestible now. Lovely moist tobacco note on the finish. (RH)

Bottle deposit. Intense and concentrated. Sweet, coconut, medicinal. Long. One of a kind. (JR)
