Looks quite substantial, deep crimson. Well knit and confident. Quite ready with the tannins well covered. Not desperately ambitious but well made. Reasonably long. (JR)
Lively crimson. Low-key nose. Round, gentle fruit flavours but on the stodgy side. Could do with some aromatic lift. (JR)
This estate is finally getting the tannin under control, as previous vintages have always been a bit rustic and astringent. The 2001 offers chocolate, espresso, and sweet black currant fruit characteristics in a medium to full-bodied, charming, structured, well-textured, seductive format. Enjoy it over the next decade.

Tristan le Lous purchased this Third Growth in 2019, keeping on José Sanfins on as director. There has been significant work in the vineyards here, with a sustainable, organic approach across the 48 hectares.
