Tasting notes
Violets, pepper, spice and leather and smoke on the effusive nose. A touch of old-school farmyard and saddle leather. Rounded tannins and in a good spot right now – one for the old-school leather lovers! (AC)

Opaque ruby. Potent black raspberry and cherry-cola aromas are complicated by notes of cured meat, licorice and violet. Silky and succulent on the palate, offering intense dark berry and bitter chocolate flavors and a touch of candied flowers. Finishes with slow-building tannins, a kick of peppery spices and excellent persistence.
Graillot's top cuvee, the 2011 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvee Speciale La Guiraude is made from a selection of the finest barrels. It exhibits plenty of green pepper, tapenade and olive aromas intermixed with notions of black currants and cherries. Medium-bodied, rich, spicy, earthy, soft and evolved, it, too, can be drunk over the next 5-6 years. Importer: Europvin, www.europvin.com
