Tasting notes

Tasting notes
Score 85/100 · Robert Parker

Produced in a period when the wines of Lagrange were quite mediocre, the 1961 is a surprisingly good effort. Dark ruby with amber at the edge, this is a chunky, flavorful wine, with some delicious black currant fruit, a pleasant oaky spiciness, and very good suppleness and length on the palate. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 2/84. Jan 1998, www.robertparker.com
