Mid ruby. Subtle but complex nose with a hint of torrefaction and plenty of spice. Dry and chewy on the palate. Definitely needs food. A little bit tough as there is more structure than fruit now. (JH)

Soft but fragrant, gentle, succulent. No shouting here – subtle and harmonious and everything in place. (JH)
Intense purple fruits on the nose. Soft and easy on the palate – quite forward though there are some chewy tannins on the finish. A certain sweetness rather than sheer fruitiness. Dry finish. Respectable without being sensational. Not especially long. (JR)
Crisp acidity and notes of crushed rocks and red currants are present in this cuvee, which lacks ripeness and depth.
About the producer
This estate saw a transformation when Guy Pagès bought it in 1970. His work, driving quality higher with increasing attention to detail and passion, has been continued by his son Patrice, who took over in 1985.
