Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2008, Robert Parker, Apr 1999

This consistently well-made St.-Emilion has fashioned its finest effort to date. The vineyard, not far from Figeac and Cheval Blanc, has produced a powerful wine that is undoubtedly a sleeper of the vintage. Its heady, intoxicating combination of black fruits, earth, and toast, and easy, open-knit, ebulliently fruity style make for a hedonistic drinking experience. There is lots of tannin, but it is soft and well-integrated. Drink this fleshy, well-made 1998 over the next 7-8 years.
