74% Sauvignon, 26% Sémillon. Matured for eight months in oak barriques, 35% new, 35% one-year-old and 30% third fill. Very tired nose. Rather harsh fruit – hard pressed? And then a bit hot on the end. Not a success. (JR)

Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting. The 2012 Caillou Blanc de Talbot displays more oak on the nose compared to the Clos Floridène: scents of lemon curd, crème fraiche and gooseberry, perhaps just a little "anonymous" in the context of a good white Bordeaux vintage. The palate is fresh on the entry with satisfactory weight, a dash of lemongrass here to liven things up. The finish is spicy and this lends it length. Enjoy this over 4-6 years. Tasted January 2016.

Tasted blind. Sweet, ripe Sémillon hits the palate most forcefully. Good acidity and grip but not quite ready. (JR)

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Fermentation in barrels (1/3 new wood). Aged 8 months on the lees with bâtonnage. Sour quince-fruited nose. Sour freshness on the palate too. Fresh, full in the mouth but the sour, tangy flavour seems to dominate to the persistent finish. (JH)
