Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2013-2018, Jancis Robinson MW, Aug 2012
There is a bit of new oak here, and despite fairly gentle toasting, its early impact on the nose cannot be denied. On the palate it becomes obvious that the Feuerberg has all the necessary credentials to cope with the wood: Great substance of fresh and juicy fruit, melon and grapefruit, a gently bitter notion of pith and peel, and a very generous texture. Acidity has not been neglected, and though the orchestra of flavours is still tuning its instruments, a great symphony is in prospect. (MS)
