Score 92/100 · Drink 2023-2033, Neal Martin, Aug 2023

The 2009 Pouilly-Fuissé En Buland, which had 14% alcohol, has a lovely nose, almost like a mature Riesling, slightly petrolly yet well-defined. The palate has a very tempting viscous opening, rich and decadent for a Pouilly-Fuissé. Yet, the acidity counterbalances it and lends precision on the sucrose finish that perhaps has a little more residual sugar than current vintages.

Sweet and scented. Intense and rather headily floral though without too much acidity. Drink this herbal number quite soon. (JR)
