An attractive, chunky, fleshy, monolithic Bordeaux with a deep ruby/plum color, decent fruit, spice and earth, the intact medium to full-bodied 2003 Dauzac exhibits good depth as well as an admirable finish. Although not complex, it is a fresh, lively red to enjoy over the next 5-7 years.

Scented and polished texture. Well-integrated acidity. Quite refreshing. Silky and vibrant. Just a tad too tart on the end. But proper wine. (Average group score: 15.5) (JR)
Good ruby-red. Perfumed black cherry with a slightly jammy quality on the nose. Offers sweet dark berry fruit of good density but limited complexity. Could use a bit more lift. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins and a chocolatey nuance.
Very light nose, but well mannered on the palate. Tannins pretty aggressive and without great weight on the mid palate. Relatively savage assault. (JR)

There have been many changes here over the past few decades – from changing rootstock and restructuring the vineyards, to an ever-smaller selection for the Grand Vin, making Dauzac an estate to watch.
