Tasting notes
Very rich on the palate but pretty ethereal on the nose – just what you want from a mature Barolo. (JR)

Mid ruby with orange rim. Very spicy, very Serralunga and slow to open up. Brooding but with a lot of sweet red fruit underneath. Full, sweet and full bodied on the attack, it retracts a little on the finish. Minerally notes with lovely freshness and with a hint of strawberry jam on the finish. (WS)
Good full red. A bit aromatically compressed on the nose today, with the warm vintage and oak element dominating. Then large-scaled, dense and sweet in the mouth but in a youthfully dumb stage. A big and very long Barolo but a bit aggressive, even tough, today and hard to judge. I'd lay this down for five or six years.
The 2007 Barolo Margheria is fabulously ripe and explosive in its dark red fruit, leather, licorice and anise. Medium to full in body, the Margheria possesses superb delineation and nuance to match its elegant personality. This turns exuberant again on the finish, where floral, minty notes add lift and freshness. The 2007 Margheria is a wonderfully complete, regal Barolo from Massolino with a bright future ahead of it.
