A one-dimensional, simple, straightforward wine with good red and black fruits, some herbs and earth, the superficiality of this wine is apparent on the palate as it lacks concentration and should therefore be consumed over the next 7-8 years.

Aromatic – dark fruit, liquorice – ripe but savoury. Then seems, unexpectedly, overripe on the palate. First note of raisining so far in this tasting. (JH)

Relatively pale. Very obvious sweet oak on the nose – something one rarely comes across nowadays. Sinewy and jagged – very much a sum of disparate parts. Jagged tannins on the finish. (JR)
