Score 87/100 · Drink 2014-2018, Robert Parker, Apr 2014

In many vintages, d’Escurac is an exceptional bargain and is usually a 50-50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2011 is loaded with cedary spices, black currant, cherry, underbrush and licorice characteristics. A solidly made, medium-bodied over-achiever, this sleeper of the vintage should drink well for 3-4 years.

Score 15/20 · Drink 2015-2020, Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2013

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Either sulphur or reduction on the nose isn’t the most attractive introduction, and it has a very coarse tannic structure. Hard, punchy – forgets to be pleasurable. (RH)
