Unfussy and charming, very much in its drinking window, with spiced berry fruits. Soft through the mid palate.

The 2009 Beauregard has an earthy, tobacco tinged bouquet that lacks a little vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, not deep or concentrated with a slightly dry finish. I would drink this in the near future. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Rather grey crimson. Black-cherry extreme ripeness on the nose. Very sweet and round. Immediate hedonism! But not for the long term. A bit stringy on the end. (JR)
