Pretty pale and mature-looking. Refreshing on the nose – light and lively. Sweet simple cassis fruit. Fine but Margaret River makes this sort of wine in profusion. (JR)

Deep colour that does not seem to have changed much since the fermentation vat. Nose still quite dumb is followed by gentle, mouthfilling fruit on the middle palate. There's a tannic kick at the end but this is remarkably unevolved and for the moment, I noted somewhat pretentiously perhaps, it's a monotone chant rather than a song. (JR)

A dark plum color is followed by an elegant, stylish 2001 offering sweet red and black currant aromas along with hints of forest floor and underbrush. It is a medium-weight, supple-textured effort with no angularity or hardness. Enjoy it over the next 5-6 years.
