Score 89/100 · Drink 1994-2010, Robert Parker, Feb 1993
The black/purple-colored 1989 is fabulous. It reveals none of the problems that many Margaux chateaux encountered in 1989. While extremely tannic and backward, it displays good acidity, stupendous concentration and length, as well as the potential to age for 20 or more years. Anticipated maturity: 1994-2010.
