Score 82/100 · Drink 1983-1993, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
A little heavier to taste and a bit less elegant than the 1971, the 1970 is a corpulent, rich, sweet mouthful of viscous, chewy Sauternes. The moderately amber/gold color is a sign of approaching maturity, but this wine has the acidity and overall balance to drink nicely for at least another decade. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 6/83.
