Fichet's 2010 Meursault is a gorgeous, village-level white laced with expressive white stone fruits, jasmine, crushed rocks and slate. This is a great introduction to the wines of Meursault. Fichet blends fruit from a variety of parcels on the mid and lower slopes of a handful of well-chosen sites in the village, including Chaumes de Narvaux, Clous, Limozin, Criots and Crotots.

Fichet blends fruit from a variety of parcels on the mid and lower slopes of a handful of well-chosen sites in the village, including Chaumes de Narvaux, Clous, Limozin, Criots and Crotots. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. This is a gorgeous set of wines from Jean-Philippe Fichet. The 2010s have great energy and freshness. Much of that is, of course, the personality of the vintage, but Fichet is also among the growers who use a fair bit of larger 600-liter barrels, which helps maintain a fair amount of cut and sheer energy. Lightly citric on the nose. Really quite tart! Racy and vibrant but a little mean on the palate. (JR)
