A monolithic, simple, one-dimensional wine with earthy, decaying vegetative notes intermixed with cherry, plum, and a hint of currant, this wine has adequate concentration, but the earthiness and simplicity of it are largely unappealing.

From the Jean-Pierre Moueix stable. Known as Ch Bourgneuf-Vayron on the French market. Bright crimson. Thick and sweet on the nose. Not especially fragrant – chunky and solid and with slightly underripe tannins. A certain green streak. Bit dull.

Red-ruby. Inky black cherry, violet and spices on the sexy nose. Offers good sweetness and intensity of cherry, violet and mineral flavors. Seems sweeter and fresher than the 2004 was at the same stage. Finishes with good ripe tannins.
