Tasting notes
Quite an attractive nose: blackberry and plum. The palate is quite concentrated with fine acidity. Medium-bodied and well-knit though a little tart on the finish. The only fault is that is lacks the depth on the mid-palate. Not a bad wine by any means. Drinking now and over 3-5 years. Tasted November 2003. (No tasting note was provided in Issue 128. Aromas of berries, chocolate and hints of spices. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a light, fresh, fruity aftertaste. Delicious red. Best after 2003. 15,000 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2002

Bright medium ruby. Lively aromas of black raspberry, bitter chocolate and mint. Good texture and restrained sweetness; dark berry flavors are quite youthfully unevolved. Solidly structured wine, finishing with firm but fine tannins and very good length.
About the producer
Historically Château Labégorce was one of the largest estates in the Médoc. It was originally owned by the Grosse family (or Gorce – hence the name) whose ownership dates back to the 14th century.
