Score 89/100 · Drink 2021-2028, Neal Martin, Jun 2021
The 1990 Clarke feels the sway of the growing season more than the previous vintage. Its redcurrant, strawberry, cedar and earthy aromatics are just a little smudged by comparison without the same freshness. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity. This has more VA than the 1989 and is a little short on the spicy finish. But it will still offer several more years of drinking pleasure. Tasted at the château.
