Score 88/100 · Robert Parker
This wine, which was at its peak several years ago, has begun to drop some fruit and fat. The color remains a dark ruby/garnet with amber at the edge. The nose offers scents of underbrush, and sweet, jammy blackberry and cherry fruit intermixed with tea, smoke, and herbs. This medium-bodied wine is beginning to reveal astringent dried tannin in its finish. The fleshy, full-bodied character the wine possessed in its youth is drying out. Anticipated maturity: Now.
