Light, rather brackish nose. Then a sweet start and some pretty dry tannins. Uncomfortable to drink at this stage. The extraction worked against the vintage characteristics perhaps? (JR)

Medium red. Expressive, perfumed nose combines plum, raspberry, tobacco and spices. Sweet and fresh, with redcurrant, plum, tobacco and earth flavors shaped by insinuating acidity. Finishes with fine tannins. This would appear best suited for consuming over the next five to ten years.

Classic aromas of blueberries and flowers are present in this medium-bodied, complex, fragrant 2002. While it is outstanding aromatically, there is a bit of leanness on the palate. Nevertheless, it is a very good effort to enjoy during its first decade of life.

Good full red. Leather, game and iron on the nose. Then pliant and moderately dense, with red fruit, leather and chocolate flavors framed by slightly edgy acidity. Shows a light roasted quality. Finishes with dry-edged but light tannins.
