Coffee beans dominate the nose. Sweet toasty oak but also a hint of lavender. High acidity on the palate takes you to a rather harsh and aggressive finish. (JH)

A dark ruby color is followed by straightforward black cherry and spice characteristics in a medium-bodied wine. This well-known property has made a competent, but unexciting 2011 that can be drunk over the next 4-5 years.

Leafy cassis aroma and a little herbaceous on the palate too. Very fine-grained tannins, fresh finish. (JH)
