This Cotes de Castillon has seen better days. Of course, it was a sleeper of the vintage and well worth buying at $14 a bottle back in 2002. I had the good sense to tell readers to drink it in 3-5 years, which would have expired two years ago, and that seems to be the problem with this wine. It is pleasant, with some herbs and berry fruit, but it is clearly fading and drying out on the palate.
