Serralunga d’Alba. Concentrated maturing ruby with orange rim. Noble, backward spicy nose. Very powerful and at the same time reigned in. Lots of grainy, perfectly built tannin. Pretty much for eternity. Endlessly long (WS)

The 2006 Barolo Riserva Lazzarito is one of the most polished, elegant Baroli I have ever tasted from Sergio Germano. Freshly cut roses, red berries, licorice, mint and spices are all woven together in a rich fabric of notable class. The wine's expressive inner perfume and long, resonant finish both elevate it above previous vintages. This is very, very pretty.

Good medium red. Wild, highly aromatic nose combines tar, menthol, dried rose and leather; bright and perfumed. Then sweet, supple and rich but classically dry, with an almost peppery impression of lift keeping the flavors under wraps today. Firmly tannic but long and sweet, in need of several years of additional bottle aging before it approaches its plane of peak drinkability.
