Tasting notes
Cordero di Montezemolo’s 1978 Barolo Monfalletto was also quite pretty, as it has been for some time. The delicate, floral side of La Morra came through nicely. Interestingly, by 1978 Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo was already experimenting with shorter fermentations of around 10-12 days, which was quite a bit less than the 30 days or more that was the custom back then.

Cordero di Montezemolo’s 1978 Barolo enjoyed a strong showing in the floral style that is typical of the wines of La Morra.
Cordero di Montezemolo's 1978 Barolo was very pretty. It delivered the classic La Morra notes of red fruits, spices and menthol in a somewhat dark, powerful and structured style for this wine. Some rustic elements came through, but this was still a remarkable showing for the estate's entry-level Barolo.
