Bright red-ruby. Liqueur-like aromas of kirsch, roast coffee, mocha, tobacco and herbs. Fat, lush and forward, with enticing sweetness to its dark fruit, chocolate and roast coffee flavors. Plush and pliant for 2006, with a rare sweetness for the year. Finishes with sweet tannins that turned a bit dusty with aeration. A very successful vintage for this wine.

This sexy, up-front, exuberant, dark ruby/purple-tinged St.-Emilion displays opulent aromas and flavors of espresso roast, chocolate, and kirsch liqueur. Ripe, deep, and fleshy, it is meant to be drunk during its first decade of life.
Good medium red. Redcurrant, plum and tobacco on the nose. Supple and sweet, with game, smoke and truffle notes. Not the last word in lift or length but this should offer early appeal.
Bright red-ruby. Cherry, smoke and very ripe hints of dried fruits. Sweet on the attack, then pliant and fruity in the middle palate, with easygoing, slightly exotic flavors of minerals, truffle and mocha. In a rather gentle style but with enticing fruit and good mineral lift. Owner Laurent Lusseau, who is also the cellarmaster at Chateau Pavie, cut the percentage of new oak from 100% to 60% in 2006, and compares this vintage to his estate's 2001.
