Excellent depth of colour, but already a brick rim. Restrained nose, but with some potential underneath. Correct. Gentle, round and supple Pauillac. Good purity and flavour definition. Lovely now. (JR)

While no one should confuse this wine with Mouton-Rothschild's legendary 1982, this wine is commendable. Dark ruby, with a cedary, ripe black currant bouquet of moderate intensity, this wine is full bodied, with very good concentration, plenty of dusty, yet ripe tannins, and very fine length on the palate. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 1/89.

Medium red. Spicy red berries, eucalyptus and camphor on the nose, plus a whiff of old barrel. Then supple and fat, with modest nuance but more ripeness and sweetness than the nose suggests. Finishes with nicely ripe tannins and good persistence.
