Tasting notes
A sleeper of the vintage, this well-made 2001 is less muscular and structured than some previous vintages. It exhibits a dense ruby/blue/purple color along with rich aromas of incense, black fruits, smoke, and earth. Medium to full-bodied, with excellent depth as well as texture, and light to moderate tannin in the long finish, it will be at its best between 2006-2013.

Light, lively, open nose. Very simple and unambitious. Slightly chewy end. (JR)
