This dense ruby/purple-hued 2011 displays attractive floral and black currant aromas, abundant fruit and classified growth-like quality. It is another convincing example of how a well-run estate overcomes the challenges of a tough year. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.

45% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. Sister to Belle-Vue. Dark crimson. More lifted than many of its peers. Then rather wild fruit and very natural acidity. Overall it tastes much more natural and vineyard-driven than many. Rather unusual for an Haut-Médoc. (JR)

Tarry, intense nose. Fresh and unforced. Good balance. Quite forward but lively and fun to drink almost already! Lots of pretty fruit. (JR)

This has a finish. Full body, with chewy tannins and a mineral, berry aftertaste. Interesting wine. This could be outstanding. jamessuckling.com
