Another reasonably priced, overachieving cru bourgeois from the Medoc, this blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot is rather classic, with crisp acids, blue and red fruits (especially blueberry and raspberry), medium body, impressive purity, elegance, and a floral, fragrant personality. This wine should drink nicely for 5-6 years.

50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. Very dark purple. Nervy nose. Suggests there is more to be revealed. A little low key and neutral on the palate. Dry finish. Much less exciting than its stablemate Belle-Vue. But well mannered. (JR)
Biturica. Sister property to Belle-Vue. Very dark crimson with real polish. Sweet start with a hint of putty. Then some black fruit and just a slight dullness. I wonder if this sample is 100%? Lots of punch and impact. Fades a little on the finish. (JR)
