Tasting notes
The 2000 Brut Cuvée Belle Epoque Fleur de Champagne is a touch rounder and more generous than the Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Belle Epoque Fleur de Champagne. Here the fruit takes on darker shades of flavor, richness and density from the Pinot Noir. The wine offers terrific persistence and a long, creamy finish. This is Lot L0570800072, disgorged ??????????.

Quite dark with a slightly sluggish bead. Very mature nose. Needs drinking. Good for current drinking, but we’re looking for wines to serve Apr-Dec 2009, unfortunately. Not quite fresh and clean and zesty enough. But satisfying to serve with food now. (JR)
The 2000 Brut Fleur de Champagne Cuvée Belle Epoque is a powerful, tightly-wound wine that needs at least a few years in the cellar to come together. Smoke, minerals, earthiness, pears and apricots are just some of the nuances that emerge from this sinewy, structured Champagne. Though quite closed today, this shows quite a bit of promise for the future. Disgorged on February 26th, 2008.
