The nose is very reticent, with only hints of dairy aroma. Preserved lemon and basil on the palate, then a long palate which finishes with some oxidative orange peel hints. I wouldn't be tempted to keep this too long. (RH)

Unoaked but aged 15-18 months in steel. And much more steely than the Christian Moreau Les Clos, Clos des Hospices 2013. Very tight, very intense, and with minerality dominating the citrus fruit. Great tension and length and shows you can make excellent grand cru Chablis without oak. Very dry and almost austere on the finish, still incredibly young with not much tertiary development. The warmer sample shows its power and length more fully. (JH)

100% barrique fermented. Even more complex and inviting than the Mont de Milieu 2014. Mealy/creamy aroma that also has some orange and apricot fruit. Very rich and at the same time very crisp. Deep and spicy and with that cedary complexity of a mature Chablis. A grand wine, still only just integrated. (JH)

Dried pear, spice and licorice notes take shape in the 2012 Chablis Vaudesir. Slightly burnished, oxidative overtones give the 2012 a bit of a forward, heavy quality vis-à-vis the other wines in the lineup. There is plenty of breadth and raw power in the Vaudesir, but less in the way of finesse.
