The 2005 Clos René is an attractive, mid-weight Pomerol. Dark red cherry fruit, rose petal, spice, cedar, tobacco and mint lend striking aromatic nuance. Persistent and impeccable in its balance, the 2005 has a lot to offer, especially if enjoyed over the next handful of years.

Light herbal, even lavender note, a little leathery on the nose and palate. Dry and fine-grained tannins. Quite restrained and a bit dry at the very end. (JH)

This richly fruity, up-front Pomerol exhibits attractive coffee, smoky, black cherry, forest floor, and underbrush characteristics. Medium body, excellent richness and purity, soft tannins, and decent acidity suggest it should be consumed over the next 10-15 years.
