The 1993 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a slightly paler color than I was expecting given its age. The aromatics are slightly muted compared to other vintages with scents of Mirabelle, dandelion, broom and a hint of honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced and a little honeyed on the entry, though this is counterbalanced by a subtle bitter edge. If I am to quibble then it is just missing that killer delineation on the finish, but otherwise this is a fine Chevalier-Montrachet that is probably just a few years past its peak. 714 bottles produced. Tasted at the d'Auvenay dinner in Hong Kong.
